Friends baby registry confusion?


My friend is due to have her baby in February. She has recently done 2 regisitries. She comes from a pretty wealthy family, and her registry has literally almost 5 of everything on it….I mean big things like 4 swings, 5 tubs, 4 diapers bags, 3 bouncer seats, 4 pack and plays, 6 play mats, 3 high chairs, etc. etc….YET she has only asked for 1 pack of diapers in every size and 1 box of wipes…My problem is that I am willing to buy her something nice and on the expensive size. She is a close friend, and i have budgetted my gift/s at $ 200-$ 250 which is a lot for me to spend, my problem is that I do not think she will appreciate it because she has so many of the same item (different styles) because she has so many people that will buy for her. She has always had everything handed to her instead of working for it and this is her first baby. She knows she doesnt need all these things, BUT she wants them. What should I do about it? I feel like my gift will go unappreciated eventhough the money i will spend is out of my budget….

I have 2 kids of my own so I know that she will not need all of these things… PLUS she is not going to be taking baby from place to place so she doesnt need different items for different houses or anything, she just wants a variety. Problem is really that she will probably get almost everything on her 120 item 1st registry and 80 item second registry plus some…so she will never notice how much effort I put into making the money to purchase my gift. PLUS she said for nobody to buy her clothes because she has very expensive taste and she doesnt want someone to feel disrespected if she doesnt like the clothes…So clothes are out of the question for me to buy!

if i dont pick something on her registry she will not like it or use it… she has already stated no clothes because she is too picky…she also is very picky with other things too and i dont want my gift going unused or unappreciated

Get her the small things. For example, bibs, shampoo, lotion, etc. Make a basket of all these things. If you know her family will get the more expensive things then grab the smaller ones. She doesn’t realize how important those smaller ones are. Hope that helps!!!
